Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Jon Belmont Music, operating under the name Jon Belmont (“Jon Belmont,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, stores, and otherwise processes personal data when you visit jonbelmontmusic.com (the “Website”), contact us, submit an inquiry, engage our services, or otherwise interact with us.
We respect your privacy and process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) where applicable.
1. Who Is Responsible for Your Personal Data?
For purposes of applicable data protection law, the controller responsible for the processing described in this Privacy Policy is:
Jon Belmont Music
Operating as Jon Belmont
Email: hello@jonbelmontmusic.com
2. Personal Data We May Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect personal data including contact and identity information, professional information, project and communication information, billing and transaction information, and technical information.
This may include your name, email address, telephone number, company or professional affiliation, professional role, social media or artist profile information, project details, links, music or recordings you submit, creative briefs, correspondence, billing information, and technical information such as your IP address and browser and device information.
3. Inquiry Form and Submitted Materials
When you use the INQUIRE form on the Website, the information you provide may include your name, email address, artist or project name, label status, a description of your project and what you are looking for, project scope, budget and timeline, links to your music, and, optionally, a demo or recording (MP3, WAV or M4A, up to 100 MB).
We use this information primarily to review and respond to your inquiry, evaluate potential collaborations and projects, communicate with you about a prospective or ongoing project or business relationship, and operate and protect the inquiry system, for example by limiting repeated or automated submissions. We do not automatically use inquiry information for marketing or add you to a mailing list.
The text details of your inquiry are processed by server-side functions hosted by Netlify and delivered to us as an email notification through Google Workspace (Gmail). Your email address is used so that we can reply to you. If you attach a demo, the file is uploaded directly from your browser to Google Drive, where it is stored in a private folder, and the notification email contains a link to that private file rather than the audio itself. Google Workspace is used to store submitted demos in our Google Drive and to deliver inquiry notifications through Gmail. This does not provide us with access to your Google account.
Demos and recordings are submitted voluntarily so that we can evaluate or discuss a potential project. We store them privately and do not intentionally make them publicly accessible, but no system can guarantee absolute confidentiality. If your material is particularly sensitive, please contact us before submitting it.
4. How We Collect Personal Data
We may collect personal data directly from you when you contact us, submit an inquiry, request services, participate in a project, enter into an agreement with us, or otherwise communicate with us.
We may also receive information from professional representatives or business contacts where reasonably necessary for a project or professional relationship. For example, an artist’s manager, label, publisher, attorney, or other representative may provide information in connection with a proposed session, collaboration, or project.
When you visit the Website, our hosting provider receives standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device information, and the pages requested, as is usual for any website. See Section 8 for more on cookies.

6. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data only where we have an appropriate legal basis.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
Contract: Where processing is necessary to perform a contract with you or take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Legitimate Interests: Where processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as responding to professional inquiries, managing projects and collaborations, maintaining professional relationships, protecting our business and creative work, and maintaining appropriate records.

Consent: Where we have asked for and received your consent. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time.
7. Marketing Communications
We do not currently send marketing communications based on Website inquiries. If we do so in the future, we will do so only where permitted by applicable law and, where consent is required, only after requesting it.
You may object to direct marketing at any time by contacting hello@jonbelmontmusic.com.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Website does not currently use analytics, advertising, or other tracking cookies or similar technologies for its own purposes, and we do not currently use browser storage for analytics, advertising, or tracking. For that reason, the Website does not currently display a cookie banner. The fonts used on the Website are served locally rather than loaded from a third-party font service.
If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required by applicable law, ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
9. How We Share Personal Data
We do not sell personal data.
We may disclose personal data where reasonably necessary to operate our business, provide services, administer projects, or comply with applicable law.
For the Website, Netlify hosts the site and runs the server-side functions that process the text details of inquiries, and Google (Google Workspace, including Gmail and Google Drive) is used to deliver inquiry notifications and to store submitted demos. These providers process personal data to provide those services to us.
Other recipients may include email and communication providers, cloud storage and file-sharing providers, payment processors, accounting and professional service providers, contractors, and other service providers assisting our business.
Where necessary for a project, information may also be shared with relevant artists, managers, labels, publishers, songwriters, producers, engineers, studios, attorneys, or other project participants.
We may also disclose information to government authorities, courts, regulators, or law enforcement where required by law.
10. International Data Transfers
Our service providers, including Netlify and Google, operate infrastructure in multiple countries, so personal data may be processed or stored outside Sweden or the European Economic Area (“EEA”), including in the United States.
Where applicable data protection law requires safeguards for transfers of personal data outside the EEA, such transfers are subject to the safeguards or transfer mechanisms required under applicable law.
11. Data Retention
We retain inquiry information and submitted materials only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, evaluate potential projects, manage an ongoing or prospective business relationship, and meet applicable legal or administrative requirements. When the information is no longer needed for these purposes, it may be deleted.
Information connected to contracts, invoices, payments, copyright interests, songwriting contributions, production credits, or other professional records may be retained for longer periods where reasonably necessary to document rights, obligations, transactions, or legal claims.
12. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, misuse, or destruction. For example, submitted demos are stored privately rather than intentionally made publicly accessible.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Your Rights Under the GDPR
Where the GDPR applies, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- Request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances;
- Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances;
- Object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- Object to direct marketing;
- Receive certain personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format where the right to data portability applies;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- Lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.
These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions contained in applicable law. Depending on where you live, other privacy rights may apply.
To exercise an applicable privacy right, or to ask us to access, correct, or delete an inquiry or a demo you submitted, contact hello@jonbelmontmusic.com.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
14. Automated Decision-Making
We do not use personal data to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects on individuals unless otherwise disclosed and permitted by applicable law.
15. Children’s Privacy
The Website and our professional services are not directed toward children.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the Website in circumstances where parental or guardian consent would be legally required.
If you believe that a child has improperly provided personal data to us, please contact hello@jonbelmontmusic.com.
16. Third-Party Websites
The Website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms, or services, such as social media and music streaming services.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. When you leave our Website or interact with a third-party service, that party’s privacy policy may govern its processing of your personal data.
